Jean-Philippe Duroc is an idealistic but rather clumsy lawyer, and his client Gaulard is about to go on trial. Since no evidence whatsoever has been found against him in the ten months he has been in pre-trial detention, he is firmly expected to be acquitted. However, the closing argument of his chaotic defense attorney Duroc turns into such a disaster that Gaulard is sentenced to ten years in prison. When Duroc wants to visit his furious client in the evening, a riot breaks out in the prison and the enraged inmates destroy everything in their path. The convicted Gaulard assumes the role of leader, and the clumsy Duroc is promptly drawn into the whole affair. When the two escape in a hurry, the police naturally get the impression that they are dealing with accomplices. Thus begins for the two a turbulent trip through the whole of France, in which they together do not miss any breakneck adventure...
